Humar

I’ve written before about hunting hunter pets, but none have let me the merry chase that Humar did this time.

The first time, I tamed him for my toon Valynda. I went to the coordinants I had gotten from the wiki and looked first at the tree at the base of the cliff before realizing that up above the coordinants were basically the same within a few points.  There he was just lying under the tree and at level 38 Val had no trouble taiming him.

Not the same story for Avialynda though. We camped out for 4 days before he finally showed. I want to document this here in case I ever need to find him again. It was at exactly 9pm Pacific time and 11 pm Borean Tundra server time. The coordinates are 62 x 33. 

I had rolled a Shammy alt on another server earlier in the evening since the queue for BT was so high and I wanted to do something.  I decided to check BT again before I logged off  for the night and saw a DK hanging out at the tree. I’m thinking, “oh no, someone got here first and then “DAMN he’s here! he’s here!!!  I came up on the tree and saw the DK was just hanging out and not trying to tame or kill Humar.  Duh! DK’s don’t tame pets, wtf was I thinking.  Anyway, I approached my prey and started to tame him but the my life gave out before the timer so off to the grave site for me.  I run back and potion up and try again, but still my life gave out before the timer did.  I did this one more time using several different potions and scrolls to extend my health, but died again.

Then it hit me, I wonder if I freeze trap him if I can tame through the trap. Worth a try.  So off I run back to my body, dose up on potions again just to be on the safe side and lay my freeze trap.  Now all the while the DK is just standing by and watching.  He never sends a tell or whisper, he just watches.  I start the taming and Humar hits the trap and is caught tight and the taming continues through it, YES!!  He escapes the trap before the timer is over but I still have full health so I’ve got him.  I’ve got my HUMAR!!!  Yeah!  I love this cat. He is my favorite all time pet.

I’m so happy I go frolicking up to the DK jumping and twirling and /clapping.  He finally speaks like a wise sage Tauren that he is and says, “Well done.” I was humbled by his simple acknowlagement.
